"Eh?" Verdan said, a quizzical expression flowing across his features. "What are you talking about?" he asked Ariadne, confused about making the best things glow.

"Umm.... anything?" Verdan took a guess. What was she talking about? Verdan could make most any object glow, what was so special about what she could illuminate?..

Verdan looked at her blankly, showing in his expression that he had no idea what she was talking about. He looked around the room, staring at the objects that Ariadne could turn into a glowing mass.

Ariadne looked at him. "Its not an object." Ariadne told him simply. As she too looked around the room.

Verdan blinked several times. He thought about it for a bit. He looked around once more, looking for something that's not an object. In the room, were only the three of them and inanimate things. As his eyes traversed over the scene, they paused as they reached Ariadne. He raised an eyebrow. "Yourself?" he inquired. "Me? Shadow?" Those were the only beings in the room that weren't objects.

Ariadne smiled. "Yup...I can make myself glow." Ariadne told him.."I dont know If I can make someone else glow..I never tried it." Ariadne said as she thought about the possibilities.

Verdan stared at his own hand. He concentrated all his thoughts on just his hand. As he stared at it for a prolonged period of time, it began to faintly glow. The soft light, however persisted for only a short period of time, no more than a second. After that long, it went out. It was harder than he thought.

Ariadne smiled as Versan attemted to make his hands glow. "Practice makes perfect." She told him. She then closed her eyes and her hands started to glow rather brightly. Ariadne opened her eyes and told Verdan "When I do my magic, my hands always glow. Maybe thats why its easier for me to make them glow on my own will." Ariadne explained to Verdan. Even while she explained it to him heer hands still glowed. she looked at her hand and the color from the glow was a rather yellow but then it managed to change to a purple hue. "Cool isnt it?" Ariadne asked Verdan about her hands.

"It's quite amazing." he says, "I haven't really thought to change the color of the glow. I ought to try that one day. However, for now I think I'll stick with my white light." Verdan says, concentrating once more on his hands. They began to glow softly once more, but with no avail. They went out almost instantly. "How do you do it?" he asks, "You don't even look at your hands when you do that..."

Ariadne thought for a bit. "I been doing it ever since I learned I was a mage. I look at the part of my body I want to glow. Then I close my eyes and I think of happy moments. And if the thought is strong enough the part of my body would glow for a long time or when I want to stop it." Ariadne explained to him as she demonstrated it to.

Verdan looked at his hands, wondering if it would work this time. He closes his eyes and envisions the happy days, when he was back home, with his family, everyone gathered together around the fireplace. His father would usually tell a story of his young days, when he would go questing with his friends. Verdan smiled. Those were good times. However, with his eyes closed, he could not really tell whether it worked.

Ariadne smiled as Verdans hands started glowing vibrantly. He was not aware of what he was doing due to the fact he had his eyes closed. Ariadne whispered to him. "Open your eyes." Ariadne smiled proudly at Verdan.

As Verdan opened his eyes, the images in his mind disappeared, and seeing the classroom, compared to his home, brought on gloomy memories, returning him to the real world. Abruptly, the glowing stopped and the room went dark again, Verdan not seeing the light radiating from him for it stopped the second he opened his eyes.
