What Awaits

[Ariadne]

Ariadne continued floating around oblivious to the fact that there was possibility of something else in the water rather than fish herself and Shadow. She swam around the lake. Liking the sensation and her hair let loose and the water was massaging her scalp.

[Shadow]

The dark shapes that were following shadow luckily turned out to be fish. The only problem was that they were big fish. Big enough to take one of shadow's leg off if they had reason, and since Shadow had drifted through their nest, They had reason. Shadow, realizing this, swam backwards , trying to get to the shore. the dark shapes gained on him. Shadow, seeing this , pulled out his daggers from his boots, still swimming. and prepared to fend the fish off. but he was a few strokes away form the shallows when one of the fish caught his right leg. yelling in pain, shadow stopped and stabbed the fish with his dagger, killing it. Continuing to swim, but now slower, he made it to the shallows and another of the fish attacked his right leg. Shadow stabbed this fish too, but his yell of pain was loud enough to be heard under water.this fish, not dead, succeeded in tearing a chunk off of shadows leg. greatly wounded, it swam away. Shadow dragged himself up to where it was shallow enough for him to lay down without fear of being drowned, he collapsed.

[Ariadne]

Ariadne had been swimming around when she heard someone yell. She quickly turned around and saw Shadow stabbing something in the water. She then heard another scream and yet again it was from Shadow. Arriadne swam as fast as she could to where Shadow had collapsed. She then ran up to him where the water was shallow enough to run him and sat beside him. Her surrounding finally becoming stained in blood. Ariadne looked to where all the blood may be and saw that it was coming from both his legs. Ariadne then got up and started dragging Shadow out of the water if he stayed there longer he would lose alot of blood and blood attracts fish. As she stoped she bent down and tears started falling form her face as she panicked. "I dont know a thing about healing." Ariadne thought.

[Shadow]

Shadow coughed a bit. When he spoke, his voice came out low and raspy. "get a cloth, clean the wound..."He shut his eyes and winced in pain. "Then apply pressure to the wound so the blood dosent drain from my body...there should be some cloths in my cloak"

[Ariadne]

Ariadne nodded as Shadow told her what to do. "She then got up and walked over to his cloak. "No I wonder in which pocket of his is the cloth inside?" Ariadne asked herself. Hmmmmmmm. Ariadne started rummaging through his cloak trying to find it until she had found the cloths. Ariadne then walked over to the lake and wet a part of the cloth so she would be able to clean the wound easier. She walked over back to Shadow. She Pulled his pants sleeves from his right leg. "I guess both those creatures caught his right leg." Ariadne thought. It was a pretty deep wound. Cloths wont be able to do nothing. Ariadne decided that he needed stitches. She then found a needle in her cloak and a rather stronger piece of thread to sew his skin back together. He`ll need around 17 stitches Ariadne calculated. So she did. Stich by Stitch. She then stopped and looked at what shes done. "Perfect" She thought.
Ariadne then sat down and placed Shadows head on her lap and pulled out a water flask from her cloak and put it to his lips so he can drink.

[Shadow]

Shadow drank from the flask, slowly. "thank you. and you said you knew nothing about healing? You did great." He struggled to sit up. Finally making it to a sitting position, he sighed and took another drink. looking down at his leg, he laughed, but the laugh was weak. "I would have never been able to do that." he examined the stiches. "who taught you how to sew?" Shadow kept talking, trying to distract himself from the pain in his leg.

[Ariadne]

Ariadne smiled weakly at Shadow. "Your welcome. I wouldnt call that healing. I just kept in mind that was another dress I was making for my doll. But thanks for the compliment" Ariadne told him. "My mother. She taught me. I used to make little dresses for my doll." Ariadne answered him. "So how are you feeling?" Ariadne asked him."It must hurt alot there was no form of anesthetic she could have used on him."Ariadne thought to herself

[Shadow]

Shadow laughed weakly. "I have a very high pain tolerance. Very high. The streets'll do that to a guy..." He coughed. "But thats not the point. the point is that it can heal on its own now, which wont take too long." He shook his head. Handing the flask back to her he smiled. "now, I think ill try to sleep..." His eyes closed as he fell, and he was out before he hit the ground.

[Ariadne]

Ariadne opened her mouth to say something but Shadow just fell asleep. Ariadne smiled to herself. "I guess Ill tell him later." Ariadne said to herself. She then layed on the grass and gazed at the stars.

[Shadow]

Half an hour later, Shadow flipped over. propping himself on his arms, He looked at araidne. "what happened? I kinda just blacked out." He shook his head. "I remember looking down at the stiches, then... Waking up. How long was I out for?"

[Ariadne]

Ariadne raised her head as she heard Shadow speak. "For like half an hour...Not much." Ariadne explained to him. "Well...you said your was going to try to go to sleep and well you fell asleep." Ariadne told him. "How is the wound?" Ariadne asked concerned

[Shadow]

Shadow laughed "what wound?" He looked at his leg, and all that was there was the stiches and a very colorfull bruise. "See? You must have some kind of ability. Or maybe it was whatever was in that flask... but either way..." Shadow laughed. "Dont touch it though, because it is still extremely painful"

[Ariadne]

Ariadne smiled. "I wasnt going to touch it."She assured him."I was going to tell you something, but I dont remember." Ariadne told him."I have no ability at healing....Sewing stitches is just very similar to sewing a dress......Kind of."

[Shadow]

Shadow shrugged. "well, something healed me much faster than normal." Smiling, Shadow looked around. "So, wanna go back in the water?" he stood up and gazed into the water. "looks like the fish swam away."

[Ariadne]

Ariadne shook her head. " I dont think so, Mister. Youre not completely healed. In a couple of days I will have to take those stitches out. And you cant risk getting your leg hurt." Ariadne told him.
