What Awaits

[Shadow]

Shadow mumbled in his sleep. turning onto his side, he shifted around, trying to get comfortable.sitting up with a cross expression on his face, he pulled a snake out from down his shirt. "No wonder why i was uncomfortable. Standing up, he unwrapped he snake from his arm and threw it into the bushes. siting back down, he looked around. "hmmm... I think Im gonna light a fire..." He looked over at ariadne. "Do you know how to controll the fire element of fire? It would make this a whole lot easyer...."

[Ariadne]

Ariadne watched as Shadow mumbled stuff and moved around a bit. He then pulled something from his shirt. Ariadne thought she was going to die. It was a snake. She watched as Shadow threw it into the bushes. Ariadne just looked at him with her eyes all wide. and nodded when he asked her a question. She then got over the shock and stood up she walked around for a bit and found a big branch and placed it in the middle of her and Shadow. She then closed her eyes and concentrated on fire. She tapped the branch softly and a fire ignited. She then looked up at shadow and smiled.

[Shadow]

He smiled back. "Sorry about the snake, but it was being annoying and crawling all over me. " he shook his head. "again, I must congragulate your excelent use of magic." he jestured to the fire. "I wish could do that." he sighed. Suddenly, he looked up, smiling. "I completely forogt!" he glowed for a second, and his smile grew more mischevious. " I can breath it!" He leaned back and exhaled, sending a pillar of fire into the sky. when it burned out, he looked at ariadne. "But i forgot that i cant fully control the length..." he sighed, and a puff of smoke flew out of his mouth as he did so.

[Ariadne]

Ariadne smiled. "Its okay." Ariadne told him concerning the snake. Ariadne looked at Shadow. "Thanks.. That means alot to me." She then looked at the fire and then back at Shadow he blew fire from his mouth. Ariadne clapped. "That was wonderful. Breathing fire is cool too." Ariadne commented. She then laughed as Shadow blew a puff of smoke.

[Shadow]

He smiled. "well, The firebreathing is almost under control, I can change it's temperature, and almost change the length of the pillar, but not really anything else." he sighed. "in a book i read, it said that dragons had a way of fanning the fire out in a very thin but wide horizontal spray. that would be useful for fighting an army..." he trailed off and laughed. "Someday... someday..."

[Ariadne]

Ariadne smiled. "some day you will Shadow..But all in its time." she said as she looked at the night sky. "So hows your leg feeling?" she asked him as she looked at his injured leg all of a sudden. "Just remember I have to take the stitches out in a few days and then your body will finish the healing." She said matter-of-factly as if she was a pro. but she really wasnt.

[Shadow]

Shadow sighed. "I cant feel the pain, if thats what you mean, but on the other hand, It is doing pretty good i guess, never got such a big wound before, and Im really glad that you were here to pretty much save me." he laughed as she spoke in the matter-of-fact tone. "You sound like a professional you know." he shook his head as he laughed

[Ariadne]

Ariadne blushed. "Your welcome Shadow..Personally I dont believe in luck so in my words you were very fortunate." She then shrugged. "Well Im not trying to sound like a professional. Im just telling you"

[Shadow]

He nodded. "they itch. Any way they could be removed sooner?" He went to scratch the wound, but as he touched it, his whole body spasmed with the pain, throwing him onto his back. upon re-gaining controll of his body, he coughed. "ow... that hurt..." He sat up, cringing. "i think my body is trying to tell me something..." Shaking his head, he reached out and touched the area around the wound, a sharp intake of breath betraying his pain. "Ok... not gonna try that again..." he smiled weakly at ariadne, the pain still burning in his leg preventing the smile from fully forming.

[Ariadne]

Ariadne gave Shadow a small smile.."The sonest it can be removed is in approximately four days." She then notice dhim about to scratch. "NooooooShadow..Dont scracth." But it was too late he would have to suffer the pain now. He had irritated the skin. Ariadne got up from laying in the grass and took a cloth and wet it in the lake until it was damp and then walked over to Shadow and placed it on top of the wound."That should stop a little bit of the itchyness."

[Shadow]

Shadow hissed, seeing as even the slight pressure brought pain, but the coolness of the cloth brought an end to his itcyness. Sighing, he looked up at Ariadne. "thanks...Heh... what would I do without you..." he laughed. Laying back again, he tried to roll over, but it brought pain. "damn.. the pain seems to have worsened..." Sighing, he stard into the sky, and fell asleep muttering. "They never will find me in here... wont think to look in the armor..." He dropped off suddenly, falling asleep.

[Ariadne]

Ariadne bit her lower lip slightly. She felt bad for such pain as Shadow was in. She never gotten such a wound. Ariadne smiled at him. "Your Welcome." She laughed a bit at his comment. "I dont know." she sais as she shrugged. Ariadne watched as Shadow fell asleep. He was muttering something which she couldnt comprehend. But it was something about "find" and "armor." She also the layed back down on the grass and stared at the sky. Her eyelids then dropped and fell softly asleep.

[Shadow]

Shadow woke with a start a few hours later. in a cold sweat and panting slightly, he shakily sat up, coughing. Inbetween the coughs, Shadow looked at his surroundings. Everything was red. or so it seemed. wearily standing, falling to his knees and crawling to the lakeside, he looked at his reflection.
He nearly attacked himself.
What he saw in his reflection was what had been staring at him in his dreams for the past months.
He saw a monster. A monster with red eyes. Thats why the world was red. Staring at his reflection, the water rippled, and the reflection seemed to grow bigger and bigger, drawing Shadow nearer and nearer. Then, Shadow fell in the lake and woke up spluttering, this time for real. Pulling himself out of teh lake, he layed on the shore, breathing heavily and soaking wet. What the hell just happened... Then, the shivering began, but something else took over as his world went black.
